Die machtvolle Perspektive eines Blicks durch die Panoramakamera inszeniert den alles überblickenden Beobachter, dessen Gesicht in überlebensgroßer Projektion auf einem urbanen Screen erscheint. Alexander Voigts Fachgebiet ist das Programmieren von Virtual Augmented Reality Apps. Die Künstlerin Jana Voigtmann erkundet in ihren Arbeiten mit Hilfe unterschiedlicher Medien die Beziehungsgeflechte menschlicher und medialer Kommunikation. In ihrer ersten gemeinsamen Arbeit verwandeln Voigt & Voigtmann die Augen des Beobachters in gleißende Suchscheinwerfer, die auf dem öffentlich Platz für alle sichtbar hin- und her wandern.

‘Scotoma’ plays with the possibilities of new tracking technologies, without giving up a critical distance. The powerful perspective of the view, offered by a panorama camera, stages the gaze of an omnipotent observer, whose face appears as a larger than life projection on an urban screen. Alexander Voigt’s discipline is the programming of virtually augmented reality apps, whereas the artist Jana Voigtmann uses different media to investigate the interrelations of face-to-face and mediated communication. In their first collaboration, the artists Voigt & Voigtmann convert the eyes of the observer into gleaming searchlights, that comb through the public place.
